Two components with different jobs
BMU means Battery Module Unit: it is the battery module that contributes energy storage. The BCU is the control and connection base that the Pi LV1 stack sits on. The BCU is not another 5.12 kWh battery, and a BMU price is not the price of a complete working system.
Evolve Energy Hub supplies both components individually. This lets installers quote the module quantity and control base required for a particular design without confusing a module-only price with an installed battery package.
The BMU: 5.12 kWh nominal per module
The listed Pi LV1 BMU is a 51.2 V, 100 Ah lithium iron phosphate module with 5.12 kWh nominal energy. Additional modules increase the stack’s nominal energy capacity; actual delivered energy and output power also depend on operating limits, settings and the inverter.
A supported Pi LV1 tower can carry up to six BMU modules on one BCU base. Final module quantities and any expansion must be checked against the applicable manual and system configuration.
The BCU: control and connection base
The BCU provides the stack’s control and connection base. It belongs in the component list alongside the BMUs rather than being treated as optional storage. Check the required cables, communication connections and supplied accessories for your exact order.
Our listing describes the BCU as the base required for Pi LV1 stacks. Your installer should confirm the supported configuration, protection, siting and inverter communication requirements—not infer compatibility from voltage alone.

Pytes Pi LV1 Battery Module — 5.12 kWh
$1,031.25
incl. GST per module

Pytes Pi LV1 Base Unit (BCU)
$536.25

These prices are for the individual hardware items. A supply quote should clearly identify module quantity, BCU quantity, required accessories and freight. Installation is not included, and we do not advertise a bundled stack price. Ask about bulk or trade pricing if buying for multiple jobs.
Your ordering checklist
- Exact Pi LV1 configuration and the number of BMUs required.
- Correct BCU base and a confirmed list of included accessories.
- Exact inverter model and supported battery communications.
- Required cables, protection and installation materials identified by your contractor.
- Delivery postcode, handling arrangements and current availability.
- Current warranty terms and product documentation.
If replacing a component, include the existing equipment details and symptoms. Do not order a replacement solely because a fault appears to involve communications; product support should help identify the next step.
